Service Project This Wednesday

All young men and young women will be helping with our service project for the needy families with premature infants at Mercy Gilbert Hospital. This Wednesday, 12/10/2008, we will meet at the Chapel at 7pm. There will be a short devotional and then we will divide up into assigned vehicles to pick up the Wards donations for the premature infants. We will drop these off at Brother Church's house and return to the ward house to cut the material for the blankets to be donated.

Also, the deacons will continue to work on the same Duty to God(making a plan to be spiritually and financially prepared for a mission by age 19) as last week since we failed to meet as a quorum this past Sunday, and I have news that several boys forgot about the assignment.

Deacons activity this week

All youth ages 12-18 are invited to attend a multi-ward youth fireside this Tuesday at 7pm. This will be held in the Stake Center Chapel. Sunday Dress is requested. The Deacons are attending this fireside this week instead of the town council meeting as previously planned. There will be no scouts or mutual this Wednesday because of this fireside. Mark Mabry is speaking and showing us his "Reflections of Christ" Photographs. Also, this week all of the deacons should be working on #9 under the Spiritual Development category in their Duty To God Handbook's(pg. 17). The requirement is to set up a plan to be spiritually and financially prepared to go on a mission at the age of 19. They need to have this done by next Sunday. Please help make sure they accomplish this requirement this week so they don't fall behind the quorum. Please have the boys bring their Duty To God Handbook's each Sunday to Quorum meeting.

Lost Dutchman Campout

While we were up at the Superstition Mountains we played capture the flag. Brother Jennings played with us we could tell he was getting to be an old man.In the morning the 11 year olds cooked breakfast. Unfortunately it consisted of burnt pancakes, sausage, and scrambled eggs.

October Campout

In October our troop went on a campout near Flagstaff at a place called Locket Meadows. We had a long night, after discovering that one of the tents was missing pieces and the other one was not strong enough to withstand the wind.

Scouts this week

This week we have scouts on Wednesday, 11/19/08 at 7pm. We will try to finish the communications merit badge for those boys that went to the merit badge clinic, and start on this merit badge for those boys that didn't go. If you have the merit badge packet, then please bring this with you. Please pick the boys up at 8:30pm sharp.

Also, this Saturday, 11/22/08, at 9:00am, we have a merit badge clinic at the chandler heights building. We will not be carpooling, so meet at the building on Chandler Heights between Haas and Ellsworth on the south side of the road 10 minutes before 9am. This will help fulfill the requirements for the Citizenship in the Nation merit badge. Wear the class A uniforms. The clinic ends at 11:30am, so pick-up the boys at 11:30 at the Chandler Heights building.
